Vancouver’s Commercial Drive, better known as “the Drive” refer mostly to the area from east Broadway, all the way to East Hastings. Along this area you will enter buildings, food, restaurants, and stores and shops that reflect the history of the Commercial Drive. The Drive was settled early by Italian immigrants, so there is a huge Italian presence here and of course the celebration of “Italian Days” during the summer is an indication of this history. Slowly other immigrant groups also moved to “the Drive,” including immigrants from Asian, African, Eastern European, Middle East and also Latin American. Also mix this cultures with a hippie lifestyle and local artists and you get a fun and indulgent experience that will make all your senses feel drank.
