Vancouver’s Chinatown-One of the best in the world

For the month of May my focus is on Vancouver’s Chinatown. While a few of the businesses seem to be closing, Vancouver’s Chinatown offer a trip back to another time and place with its buildings, food and atmosphere. Here are some more pictures

The pictures are of Dr Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese garden located @ 578 Carrall St. It has two parts a public park and a museum garden. The public park is free. The museum garden is $14 per person and comes with a guided tour of Chinese garden. Read more about the Dr Sun Yat-Sen and the creation of the Chinese Republic and the concept of the Chinese garden following the philosophical branch of Taoism commonly known as “yin and yang”

Just at the end of Chinatown between Main and Union is the remnants of a prosperous black community known as Hogan Alley that existed between early 1900’s to 1960’s. Jimi Hendrix( the great guitarist) lived a portion of his life in Hogan Alley
